Andy Verwer
Andy Verwer is the Principal Lecturer in the Department of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Science and Engineering at Manchester Metro-politan University (MMU), United Kingdom, and the manager of Ascent (MMU ASCent –Automation Systems Centre). Andy has more than 25 yea-rs experience in teaching automation, control engineering and mechatronics at MMU and before that, 14 years experience in the aircraft, pharm-aceutical and process industries involved in design and implementation of instrumentation, automation and control systems.
He has published over 50 technical papers and a well-sold book: “Control system design and simulation”. And he has been involved with many industrial projects of control and automation and developed software and hardware for teaching control system design, simulation and impleme-ntation.
Over the years, respectively Andy has set up the UK PROFIBUS Competency Centre (PCC), the training and support centre of Actuator-Sensor Interface (AS-i), OpenPLC programming using IEC61131-3 and Industrial Ethernet. Andy currently serves on the steering committees for PROFIBUS UK, AS-i UK and is a member of the PROFIBUS International working groups for Installation and Training.

多年来,他分别建立了英国PROFIBUS资格中心和基于AS-i、开放式PLC编程语言IEC61131-3、工业以太网的技术培训和支持中心。目前他是英国PROFIBUS组织、英国AS-i组织指导委员会成员,也是PROFIBUS国际组织(PI)安装技术和培训工作组成员。
